New & Hot!

Fun in the sun, AND in the city!

HEY GUYS!

This past weekend was absolutely crazy and non-stop but so much fun. I am finally sitting down for the first time in what feels like forever and I decided to check in with you guys!

Now….. Where to start, I have so much to tell you!

It’s Sunday night so I guess I can start by telling you about my weekend.

I feel like all I did this weekend was EAT and DRINK. It was such a gorgeous weekend so obviously when warm weather comes, so do cold drinks and BBQ’d food. Saturday, Steve and I ventured down to Aylmer, Ontario (near London, Ontario) where my best friend Kelly’s parents live! It was Kelly and her sisters birthday so her parents threw them this HUGE barbecue and bonfire. It was sooo much fun and so nice to escape from reality for a day and be out in the middle of nowhere, literally! it was so nice to see all of my old friends from university,  Some of them I hadn’t seen in almost 2 years so it was great to catch up with everyone and see how they are doing. It’s so great to see someone after SO long and you can almost pick up where you left off! Those are the BEST friends you know you will have forever!

Kelly’s dad took Steve and I and a few other people on a four-wheeler ride, and I was really excited because I thought it would just be a nice, quiet ride through their property, but NOPE! He took us FULL-ON off-roading! At one point, we were going across a man-made bridge that did not look like it could hold us up! Thankfully, Steve was sitting beside me and he had his arm across me the whole time, my own personal seatbelt!

Don’t get me wrong, it was tons of fun… Just definitely not what I expected at all!!

Here’s a picture of me and Steve taken OBVUOUSLY before the ride haha!

The rest of the day was just as fun! We ate a HUGE barbeque dinner and spent the night talking around a giant bonfire that Steve put together! The only downside of the day was the drive home! Steve drank so I drove the 3 LONG, dark hours by myself! BUT it was definitely worth it to catch up with friends and spend the day in the sunshine!

Sunday ended up being such a great day as well! Steve and I headed into the city because I am doing a juice cleanse this week (look out for my post on that later in the week) and we had to go to the store and pick up my juices! With it being such a great day, we decided to make a pit stop at Kensigton Market!  If you have never been to Kensington Market, I suggest you go.  Its a small little artsy community tucked away in the heart of Toronto. There you will find some of the best food Toronto has to offer, the cutest shops, and artisans from around the city selling one-of-a-kind artwork and trinkets. The area has a very Jamaican/hippy/relaxing vibe to it. Bright beautiful graffiti on every building, and even the famous garden car.

I’ve been dying to go since the weather got nicer because Toronto Popcorn Company just opened up there and with my obsession with popcorn, I can’t believe it took me this long to actually check it out!!!

I am not exaggerating when I say this place is HEAVEN ON EARTH! There are what seems to be an endless amount of flavours to choose from, and we spent about 20 minutes in the shop just trying all the different flavours! The whole front entrance of the shop is different flavours of popcorn in gumball machines for customers to sample! It was such a fun experience and I obviously went home with three bags! I wanted to get more but because of my juice cleanse this week I didn’t want to tempt myself 😦 so I got some flavours that I knew would last the week so I can indulge next weekend on my road trip!

Another place you must stop when adventuring in Kensington Market is Moo Frites!! It is a small Belgium fries shop and omg the best Belgium fries I have ever had! Steve and I shared a small and we got Chipotle mayo on the side! There were 18 different flavours of sauces to choose from… Some including dill&lemon, spicy curry ketchup, and nosy wasabi… Just to name a few! I can’t wait to go back and try different flavours !

So it definitely was an extremely jam packed weekend filled with SO many fun things going on! It was one of the first NICE weekends so I am glad we got to enjoy it and spend it outside.

Now for the rest of the week I will be packing and getting ready for my Nashville trip coming up this weekend! I cannot wait, and I can’t wait to bring you guys along with me!
Check back soon,
