Blue Mountain & Spa Getaway!
Although I haven’t been able to do much because I’ve been so sick, my sister, mom and I set aside a day last week to head up to Blue Mountain and have a little ‘girls getaway weekend’. This was great because the three of us have been so swamped lately we haven’t had the chance to go out and do ANYTHING together in such a long time. We headed up north to Blue Mountain on a Saturday afternoon because we had massages booked early Sunday morning at Scandinave Spa. The whole ride up, my mom kept mentioning this store in Collingwood we HAD to stop in, so we made sure to make it our first stop! The store is called Leuk and it is located right on Main Street in Collingwood. My sister and I went CRAZY in this store! This store had EVERYTHING from furniture, to cute little home accessories, to clothing. It was so adorable and we found so many great things! I bought myself a little sweater dress and a great blanket scarf to match with it- the perfect fall outfit!
After Leuk, we checked into the Westin Trillium Hotel in Blue Mountain and found a spot to eat for dinner. Now unfortunately, I was suffering from Strep throat at the time (lucky me), so food wasn’t really on my mind, but we found a cute little steak house in the village called Copper Blues Bar & Grill. The food was amazing and the service was great, plus it was Halloween so we pretty much had the whole restaurant to ourselves! After dinner, we went back to the hotel for a hot tub! The Westin has the most unbelievable hot tub I’ve ever seen! It was so peaceful and had a beautiful waterfall as well, definitely a great way to end the night.
The next morning, we were up bright and early for our massages! Neither of us had been to Scandinave Spa before, so we were very excited to have a nice relaxing day! The massage went well, it felt so nice to just be in my own little world for an hour, however there were a few minor things that interrupted my peaceful massage! Firstly, the fire alarm kept going off every couple of minutes, which is very distracting when you are trying to get in you’re personal peaceful zone! Another thing was the music didn’t work! So every few minutes you would hear static come on the speaker system! One of my favourite parts of a massage is the peaceful, tranquil music that comes along with it. thankfully, my massouse was amazing.. And she kept apologizing for the fire alarm and the music not working so it definitely made up for it!
After our massages, we changed into our bathing suits and headed outside to the bath area!
This was the most relaxed I have ever felt! They had huge hot tubs, a few big cold pools, a sauna, and a eucalyptic steam room! The steam room was my absolute favourite! I was sick at the time with strep throat, so the mint in the steam room really opened up my sinuses and cleared my throat, I spent the majority of the day in there!!
We also got a free lunch with our spa package! The lunch came with an egg salad sandwich, a soup, a cookie and a coffee! It was delicious.
Overall, it was an amazing weekend ! It was so great to be able to spend some time with my mom and my sister. We are all so busy we forget to make time for eachother!
So until my next adventure..
I’ll talk to you guys soon
